Close Reaching

I had a gentle beat along the coast. I took this picture as I headed in towards Nairn.

The wind speed was maybe 6-8 knots, but could have been less. There was no sea running. Boat speed here was about 3.5-4 knots.

If I eased it slightly - tail of the windex just outside the tag - boat speed increased to about 4.5-5 knots.

The boat tacked through about 95-100 degrees over the ground, but the conditions were ideal.
